Step-by-step guide for cleaning cold brew equipment

Blog > Product & Equipment Knowledge > Equipment

Cold brewed coffee has become a mainstream staple, and just like hot brewed coffee, cold brew equipment needs the same attention to cleaning details. From preparation in a Toddy Cold Brew System to a dispenser like a Brood Nitro System, this process requires extra care to ensure safe preparation and serving.

The extended immersion time of cold brew leaves behind coffee oils in brewing equipment. But removing them is easy with an alkaline cleaner such as Urnex Clearly Cold and Urnex Complete Cafe Equipment Sanitizer or a one-step product such as Urnex One-Pro.

  2. Add water to fill brewing vessel.
  3. Add 1 oz (28 g) of One-Pro for every 5 gallons of water.
  4. Soak for 15 minutes.
  5. Empty cleaning solution from vessel.
  6. Add water to top of vessel and empty.
  7. Refill vessel with clean water again, and empty.
